Square D is Schneider Electric's North American brand and is best known for panelboards, breakers and dry type transformers. Liquid filled pad mounted units sold under the Schneider umbrella come through that organisation rather than under the Square D dry type line most people picture. If you have a Square D pad mount on site it is worth reading the nameplate carefully, because the build and the support route follow Schneider rather than the Square D catalogue.
How they sell
Large multinational. Distribution class pad-mounts are a small part of a much bigger portfolio.
Getting a small commercial pad-mount quoted by a multinational is difficult, and their channel is built around distributors and rep firms rather than direct sale. That is not obstruction, it is just how the channel is arranged.
Where they fit on a job
US origin makes this a candidate for federal and Buy American work, where TAA eligibility is a hard gate rather than a preference.
